I hope they have a sense of humour over there. I actually do some work in the area of rapid diagnostics so I will just answer beansy properly.
No, this system would most likely not be able to analyse your stool. That is because (unless you have serious diarrhoea) the subject matter is too viscous to flow evenly over the test strip. There would not be the required lateral movement to allow the hydrophilicity of the media to differentiate between the mechanical characteristics of a good or bad sample or to properly interrogate to chemical signals in the sample due to the need for good dispersion in what is always going to be a small test surface area.

When I see this morning the Micheal Martin is the most popular part leader in this country I think maybe we should be “moaning” a wee bit more…
