The ‘Transit of Venus’ occurs in pairs, and won’t be seen again this century – but NASA, thankfully, took this video.

IF YOU WEREN’T up early this morning – or, if like most of Ireland, your view of the sky was obscured by those pesky clouds – you missed one of the astronomical sights of the century.

Last night, for the last time before 2117, Venus passed between us and the Sun.

Known as the ‘Transit of Venus’, the event happens in two pairs on average every 243 years, and last occurred in 2004.

Here, thanks to NASA, it is in all its videographed glory.
