Temperatures will hit the mid-20s in the next few days - so break out that sunscreen

The best weather will be on Monday and Tuesday.

IRELAND’S STOP-START summer kicks back into ‘that’ll do fine, thank you’ mode in the coming days.

According to Met Éireann, temperatures will reach the mid-20s next week.

The best weather will be around on Monday and Tuesday, when, according to the weather service, it’ll be “warm or very warm” in all areas.

The high pressure will peak on Tuesday, with temperatures returning to normal for the time of year by the following day.

It’s expected to be showery and quite cloudy later next week.

Back to today, it’s expected to be a bright afternoon with sunny spells and some cloudy periods – with top temperatures in most areas hovering around the 20 degree mark. It may take a few hours to brighten up across the south of the country however.

Tomorrow, apart from the occasional shower, it will be dry and warm – with temperatures increasing later in the day with the help of sunshine.

Wear sunscreen

The Irish Cancer Society has been reminding people to wear sunscreen and take other steps to protect themselves from the sun, in recent days.

Ireland is the 14th most susceptible nation in the world for skin cancer, a new study from German dermatology group Derma Plus found this week.

The study shows that Ireland has 859 new cases of melanoma a year. Ireland’s rate of skin cancer is down to skin colour and average UV factor.
