Rain Rain Go Away

Well, it was nice while it lasted: "heavy showers" forecast for the weekend

What have we done to displease you, sun gods!?

IF LIKE MANY people you’ve spent the week boiling in work and planning your weekend barbecue, we have some bad news.

Met Eireann is forecasting that while today will be “mostly dry”, there will be rain and wind. Because in Ireland there’s always rain and wind.

“Saturday will be a dry day for many parts of the country, but some showers will develop and one or two could be heavy. A mix of sunny and cloudy spells, with temperatures climbing to between 16 and 19 degrees in a light to moderate northerly wind.”

Tonight will be more or less the same, with clear spells and light breezes. This is also the “risk of some mist or isolated fog patches by morning.”

The outlook for tomorrow through to Wednesday is largely the same, but the second half of next week will see unsettled weather, showers and below average temperatures.

So pack away those shorts and that sun cream for another year.
