We're expecting it to be as warm as 25 degrees today

In keeping with tradition, the weather is stunning on the first day of the Leaving Cert.

WE’RE IN FOR a scorcher of a day.

According to Met Éireann, today will be warm and mainly dry with sunny spells and light easterly breezes. Temperatures are expected to reach between 20 and 25 degrees (so break out the suncream).

But there will be a change in the afternoon and evening, with a few heavy or thundery showers to develop in the northwest and in the southwest. There may be one or two in west Connacht also.

Tonight will be mild and mainly dry with clear spells as some patches of mist and fog will develop.

A little drizzle may develop in south Munster, with the lowest temperatures expected to fall between 9 to 13 degrees.

In completely unrelated news, the first Leaving Cert exam is today.
