Wrap up warm, it's going to reach -3 in some parts tonight

MET ÉIREANN HAS issued a yellow wind warning that will last until this evening.

Gale force winds will reach 64km/hr today, with gusts reaching over 100km/hr.

The warning affects Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Overall, Met Éireann says today will be cold and windy, with sunny spells and wintry showers of rain, hail and sleet.

A few snow flurries might be seen on hills and a few of the showers may be thundery.

Eastern and southern parts of Leinster and Munster will be mainly dry and highest temperatures will be between 3 to 6 degrees.

Met Eireann has also issued a snow and ice warning tonight for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, where there could be between 1 to 3 cm.

Lowest temperatures zero to minus 3 degrees and a widespread sharp to severe frost will form. Night in front of the fire it is then.
