Week in Web

Weird Wide Web: Bitcoins in space, talking billboards and rating your man

All of your essential tech and social media news for the week in one byte-sized portion.

WELCOME TO THE Weird Wide Web – where we take a look at the week’s best offerings in tech and social media news.

Gaming launch of the week

The Xbox One hit the shelves this week and with the Playstation 4 due out next week, the topic of the week was the ‘battle of the consoles’. So which one comes out on top?

Sexist app of the week

We’ve had a couple of sexist apps in the Weird Wide Web but this one’s a little different because it objectifies men. Women using Lulu have the option to rate men in their lives, be it an ex, a co-worker you have a crush on or just a friend, with tongue-in-cheek hashtags like #BigFeet, #PornEducation and #ObsessedWithHisMom. [New York Times] Needless to say, it hasn’t gone down well.
