Woman in her 40s killed as two cars collide in west Cork

A man who was driving the other car wasn’t seriously injured.

A WOMAN IN her 40s has died after a two-car crash in west Cork this morning.

It happened at around 9am at Coppeen East on the R585Bantry Line road, a Garda spokesperson confirmed.

The woman, who was the sole occupant of her car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the other car wasn’t seriously injured.

A section of the road was sealed off this morning as forensic tests were carried out.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Gardai in Bandon on 023 – 8852200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
