Wind warning issued for six counties with gusts of up to 110km/h

It came into effect at 1am and will stay in place until 4pm this afternoon.

A STATUS YELLOW wind warning is in place for six counties today.

Met Éireann issued the warning for Wexford, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford yesterday.

It came into effect at 1am and will stay in place until 4pm this afternoon. The forecaster said:

West to northwest winds will occasionally reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h possible in coastal regions.

“The strongest of the winds are expected overnight and early Sunday morning.”
