Woman dies while travelling with children in single vehicle crash last night

The crash happened at about 11.30 last night in Limerick.

A WOMAN HAS died after being involved in single vehicle crash in Limerick last night.

The woman, aged in her late-30s, was travelling with a man and two children when the car she was driving crashed at the Applegreen service station, Coolanoran, Rathkeale in Limerick at about 11.30 pm.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem will take place.

The man (40s) and two children were taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí forensic investigators are still at the scene in Limerick and the road there remains open, with a stop-go system currently in place. The road is expected to re-open fully this afternoon.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses of the crash to come forward.
