Woman (30) dies after getting into difficulty while kayaking in Co Kerry

The incident happened in the Roughty River, Kilgarvan at around 12pm.

A WOMAN HAS died following a kayaking incident in Co Kerry this afternoon.

The incident happened in the Roughty River, Kilgarvan at around 12pm.

The woman in her 30s drowned after she got into difficulty kayaking.

She was later pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to University Hospital Kerry.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing.
