Woman dragged from car and window smashed with hammer in morning robbery

Two men wearing balaclavas blocked the woman’s route.

A WOMAN WAS dragged out of her car by two men wearing balaclavas this morning after they blocked her route with their car.

The men smashed the front passenger window with a hammer when they failed to get into her vehicle.

They then dragged her out and stole cash from the car. It happened in the Kennedy Way area of Belfast at around 10:30 this morning.

A man was a front seat passenger in the car. Neither the woman or man were injured, however they were both left badly shaken.

Detective Constable Ian Austin said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in this area at the time or who has any information to contact Detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
