78-year-old woman dies after collision with truck in Cork

No one else was injured in the incident.

A WOMAN HAS died after her car collided with a truck in Cork this morning.

The crash occurred on the Kanturk to Cork road at Glen South. The 78-year-old woman was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 75-year-old female passenger was uninjured. The driver of the truck, a 33-year-old man, also was not injured in the crash.

The body of the deceased woman has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is expected to take place later.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
