It is understood the woman died alongside her two dogs.

A WOMAN’S BODY has been found at the scene of a house fire in Belfast, the PSNI has confirmed.

This incident happened in the Archdale Drive area of the Belvoir Estate in south Belfast yesterday afternoon.

Shortly after 2pm police received a call from a member of the public reporting the blaze.

The woman, believed to be in her fifties, was discovered deceased in the property.

A post-mortem is set to take place to determine the cause of death and an investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.

It is being reported this morning that the woman was found alongside two of her dogs, who also died in the fire.

Speaking to Belfast Live, the woman’s estranged husband said: “She was a very good person. She just kept herself to herself and would never had done anyone a bad turn.”

The PSNI has said there is no further information at this time.
