POLICE IN LONDON are looking for a man suspected of robbing a woman’s handbag as she attended to her husband’s grave on Christmas Eve.

At about 1.30pm on 24 December, the 73-year-old woman was cleaning the plot in Hanwell Cemetery when she was approached from behind. The man took her handbag as she fell to the ground.

She sustained minor injuries in the attack.

The suspect, who has since been caught on CCTV, left the graveyard two minutes later, walking briskly while covering his face. He was also wearing his hood up.

Police in Ealing have now issued a still from that footage in the hope of finding him and bringing him to justice.

He is described as a “skinny man” and about 5′ 9″ tall. He was wearing a black scarf covering his face, a grey hooded top, a black coat and jeans.

The lady’s handbag was recovered by a member of the public but her purse was missing.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police locally.
