PHOTOS: This is what the largest atlas in the world looks like

The atlas weighs in at more than 23 stone and each page is almost 2 metres high.

IT’S QUITE A bit larger than the atlases we remember from primary school – but for good reason.

Adjudicators from the Guinness World Records today measured Earth Platinum, the largest atlas ever, at the British Library in London.

The atlas weighs 150 kgs (over 23 stone), with every page measuring 1.8 metres high and 1.4 metres wide, and has claimed its place in the Guinness book of World Records. Hopefully some kid doesn’t have to carry this in their schoolbag anytime soon…
