Young man killed in Monaghan crash

The man is the second to lose his life in a road crash in Monaghan within 24 hours.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a single vehicle road traffic collision in Co Monaghan last night, in which a man in his mid-20s was killed.

The crash occurred on the Churchill Road at Drumakill, Castleblayney, between 12 midnight and 12.30am. The victim was discovered at 9.15 am this morning, according to gardaí.

Forensic collision investigators are at scene of the collision, however no adverse traffic implications have been reported.

The man is the second person to lose his life in Monaghan within 24 hours: a man in his 30s was struck by a car on the R183 between Castleblayney and Ballybay Road at around 11.40pm on Monday night and was pronounced dead at the scene.
