Step inside this terraced home in Dublin 8 with a must-see interior
FROM THE FRONT entrance of 12 Emerald Square in Dublin 8, you’d never imagine what the inside holds.
The three bedroom, two bathroom terraced home has an unassuming exterior, but when you walk through the charming green front door, you’ll step into a tastefully renovated interior with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a cosy back garden.
Number 12′s architect-designed extension was completed in 2005 and brought the accommodation to a roomy 106 square metres. Thanks to the home’s cul de sac location, the garden is spacious and offers enough room to extend without sacrificing outdoor space.
The entrance hall includes under-stair storage for shoes, coats and brollies. This zone leads into the open plan living/dining/kitchen area, brightened with enormous windows that let light flood in.
The space has limestone tiled flooring throughout, and the kitchen area has a range of wall and floor-mounted units, an integrated four-ring gas hob, tiled splash backs, and double doors to the L-shaped south-facing garden.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a double bedroom with access through double doors to the garden, as well as a bathroom.

Upstairs there are two more double bedrooms, one with a newly renovated en suite bathroom.
The south facing garden features paving, trees and shrubs and offers plenty of seclusion in a busy part of the city.
Given its location, a wealth of resources nearby is to be expected: the home is situated opposite the Coombe Hospital, with the Rialto Luas stop just steps away and is close to shops, bars, schools and cafes.
