Would Fianna Fáil cut our taxes if it got into government?

We asked the party’s jobs spokesperson Dara Calleary.

FIANNA FÁIL HAS come under pressure in recent weeks to outline its plans in the area of taxation if it gets into government after the next election.

While the coalition parties cut taxes in the last Budget – and are pledging to do more of the same next October – and Sinn Féin says it would abolish property tax and water charges if it got into office, Fianna Fáil has not so far offered any specifics.

A recent radio interview by party leader Micheál Martin prompted the Fine Gael TD Regina Doherty to claim that “hard-pressed taxpayers… can expect nothing back from Fianna Fáil” if the party is returned to government.

So when the party’s jobs spokesperson, Dara Calleary, spoke to TheJournal.ie earlier this week we asked about the party’s tax proposals:
