1. #LIFE: Graham Dwyer has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Elaine O’Hara. Justice Tony Hunt said it is a sentence he “richly deserves”.

2. #WE WON’T PAY: TD Joan Collins and councillor Pat Dunne were among a dozen people arrested at a water meter protest.

3. #CAVAN: A father-of-four who killed his wife at their home has been jailed for 12 years after his manslaughter conviction.

4. #TRAGEDY: Another distress call has gone out in the Mediterranean from a boat carrying 300 people, following hundreds of deaths in similar incidents in the last week.

5. #STRIKE: Siptu bus drivers at Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann have voted to strike for four days next month, with a further three days planned by the National Bus and Rail Union.
