A NUMBER OF searches are being carried out at Faughart, Dundalk in County Louth today by gardaí investigating the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.

The father of two was shot dead at the Lordship Credit Union in Dundalk on the 25 January, earlier this year.

A spokesperson for the gardaí would not say exactly what is being searched as “it would hinder any investigation”.

Local detectives backed up by members of the Divisional Search Team, the Regional Support Unit, Garda Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit (National Bureau of Criminal Investigation) and the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit are all involved.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for members of the public, who may have information on the murder, to come forward.

They can contact the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111.

The Crimestoppers appeal, which has offered a ‘substantial’ reward, also remains in place.
