Aer Lingus passenger numbers on the rise

Passengers numbers are now up 4.5% for the first nine months of the year.

AER LINGUS HAS reported a 5.3% increase in the number of passengers it carried last month, compared to the same time last year.

The airline carried 1.041 million passengers in September – including those using the Aer Lingus Regional service.

Long haul traffic increased by 27.8% to 138,000 passengers, up from 108,000 in September last year.

Short haul traffic also increased – but on a much smaller scale - with 784,000 short haul passengers representing an increase of 1.2% from 775,000 in 2013.

Total Aer Lingus passengers for the first nine months of the year were up 4.5% to 8.692 million
