AS CONSUMERS, WE’VE become used to seeing food land on our plate or in our fridge without giving a second thought as to where it actually came from.

Not which shop or supermarket, but where and how the food was grown, if it was processed and how it was produced.

Airfield Estate is working to change that habit and get Irish people engaged with the food they eat. Established by the Overend sisters in 1974, the estate is a hub for actively learning about food, farming and the land, with an organic food garden and a working farm where visitors can become educated about what’s on their plate.

So, how much do you really know about the food you eat? Test your knowledge in the quiz below.
