Body believed to be Alice Gross murder suspect removed from park after being found dead

The body, believed to be convicted killer, Arnis Zalkalns was found a mile from where the teenager’s body was found.

A BODY BELIEVED to be that of a man wanted for the murder of 14-year-old Alice Gross has been removed from the park it was found and taken to a London mortuary.

The man’s body was found yesterday just a mile from where the teenager’s body was recovered and it is reported that the man died from hanging.

Although no formal identification has taken place, Metropolitan Police say they believe it to be that of Arnis Zalkalns who was wanted in connection with Gross’s murder.

Zalkalns had served eight years in prison in his native Latvia for stabbing his wife and burying her in a forest.

It had been thought that Zalkalns may have returned to Latvia since Gross’s disappearance over five weeks ago.

Her body was found on Tuesday following the biggest police operation since the 7/7 attacks in 2005. Royal Air Force drones were even used to find potential movements on the ground.

The River Brent, where the teenager’s body was found, links to the Grand Union Canal where the teenager was last seen walking.
