We asked these people what they want from a revamped Angelus finds out what people really think of the daily prayer.

RTÉ’S DAILY ANGELUS broadcast has long been a subject of heated debate.

While some criticise its Catholic symbolism, the majority of Irish viewers would oppose it being scrapped, according to audience research.

Now, the broadcaster is pouring €20,000 into a revamp of the call to prayer – though it’s committed to maintaining the traditional bell chimes in any new version.

But does the Angelus really need to be updated? Or is it time to get rid of it altogether? We took to the streets to find out:
