Arnotts is marketing a vacuum cleaner as a Christmas gift 'for her'

At least it’s a fancy one?

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING season is here, and you may be wondering what to get for the women in your life. Arnotts in Dublin has a suggestion:

Yep, that’s a €499.99 Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner, marketed as ‘The Gift For Her’.

The decision to market a vacuum cleaner as a gift for the ladies is receiving a lot of backlash online from women who most certainly do not want to see one under the tree on Christmas Day. Fiona O’Malley writes:

‘The Gift… for her!’ 2015 marketing by Arnott’s, bringing us back to the ’50s.

UPDATE: Arnotts has since rectified the situation by placing a ‘The Gift For Him’ tag on the blue Dyson vacuum cleaner. FANCY VACUUM CLEANERS FOR ALL!
