A COCKTAIL BAR in Dublin city centre remains cordoned off this morning following an overnight burglary and arson attack.

The fire broke out early this morning at Peruke and Periwig, a bar on Dawson Street, Dublin 2, just opposite the Mansion House.

Emergency services attended the scene at 4.55am, extinguishing the blaze..

Gardaí confirmed that they are investigating the incident of “burglary and criminal damage by fire”.

The scene is preserved for technical investigation, and gardaí remain at the scene.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

The fire also briefly disrupted traffic and caused a temporary suspension of Luas services in the city centre, but both the street and the Green Line have since reopened.

“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.
