A MINUTE’S SILENCE at the Aviva Stadium for the hundreds killed and injured in the Paris attacks was interrupted tonight by opposing football supporters.

The silence was planned for tonight’s play-off match between the Republic of Ireland and Bosnia and Herzegovina but a number of supporters in the Bosnian end of the ground appeared to shout during the period of reflection.

A number of people at the game reported hearing the word ‘Kurdistan’ also being shouted.

After the voices became audible, a large portion of fans elsewhere in the stadium began booing in objection to those who didn’t observe the silence.

The lack of respect did not go down well online.
