THREE IRISH BABIES were in a hurry to greet the world last night and were not waiting around for their mammies to get to the hospital.

National Ambulance Service crews delivered three babies in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow overnight.

The NAS said staff in its call centre provided over the phone instruction in emergency childbirth procedures until paramedics arrived.

Crews from Tallaght, Naas, Wicklow and Newcastle ambulance stations attended the scenes. The mothers and babies are all said to be doing well this morning.
