A BATCH OF ginger nut biscuits on sale at Aldi has been recalled over fears about their preparation.

The Baketime Ltd biscuits made for the supermarket have been recalled by the company, according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI).

The recall affects the 300 gram packets of Belmont Biscuits Ginger Nuts, with the batch codes:

  • L16047
  • L16048
  • L16061
  • L16062
  • L16068
  • L16069

The FSAI said the biscuits were being recalled over fears around their manufacture.

Baketime Ltd is recalling on a precautionary basis the above six batches of ginger nuts, produced for Aldi, as they have been manufactured in unhygienic conditions.

“Point-of-sale notices should be displayed in stores where the affected batches were sold requesting customers who have bought these batches to return them to an Aldi store.”

No other products or batch codes are affected by this recall in Ireland.
