The man whose dismembered body was dumped in the Grand Canal has been named
GARDAÍ HAVE IDENTIFIED the man whose body was found in a suitcase in the canal at Ardclough Village, Co Kildare on Saturday.
Gardaí confirmed this evening that they had identified the deceased as Kenneth O’Brien from Clondalkin in West Dublin.
Kenneth (33) went missing on Friday. His dismembered remains were discovered by people out walking at Ardclough on Saturday afternoon, and the area was sealed off by gardaí.
Gardaí later confirmed that he had been killed at another location and had been moved to the canal.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for the public’s help in their investigation into Kenneth’s death.
They wish to speak to anyone who was in or around the Grand Canal near Ardclough on Friday and early Saturday.
Latest information suggests Kenneth was killed sometime between Friday and Saturday.

Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen him since the early hours of Friday morning when he left Lealand Road in Clondalkin to contact them.
