THE BODY OF a 33-year-old man who fell into the River Nore at the weekend has been recovered.

The man was out walking with friends when he entered the water at Canice’s Mill in Thomastown, Kilkenny, at 1.30am on Sunday.

A multi-organisation search was launched but crews were unable to locate the man. Today, the Defence Forces said a naval diving team recovered the man’s body from the river.

A search party of 51 soldiers in Kilkenny had been assisting with the search over the last 48 hours.
