Gardaí seek man wearing top "stained with blood" after body found inside Dublin flat

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE discovery of the body of a young man in Dublin have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Gardaí were called to an incident at a flat on South Circular Road close to the junction with Bloomfield Avenue, Dublin 8 at around 3.45pm this afternoon.

A man (20s) was discovered with injuries on the roadway close to the scene and removed to St James’ Hospital. He remains there this evening with non-life-threatening injuries.

When gardaí examined the inside of the flat they discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 20s.

The man is an Irish national. His body was taken to the City Morgue where a post-mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.

Gardaí are now seeking a third man who was seen leaving the flat at about 3.20pm this afternoon.

The man is aged in his 20s and is described as:

  • 5 ft 6 inches in height
  • Of thin build
  • Wearing a dark top that may be stained with blood.

The scene of the incident has been sealed off for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been informed.
