Burglars kill 10-week-old kitten in a microwave

It is reported that the burglars carried out the act after finding nothing to steal in a home in the UK’s west-midlands.

BURGLARS KILLED A homeowner’s kitten in a microwave after they couldn’t find anything to steal, it is reported.

The body of the ten-week-old kitten was found hours after the owner reported the break-in at her home in Warwickshire in the UK, the Mail reports.

The woman, who has not been named, returned home to find her house ransacked and her cat, whom she’d only recently acquired, missing. She declined to be interviewed but her mother told the paper that her daughter later discovered the pet inside the microwave.

“It just doesn’t bear thinking about,” her mother said. “It has made me ill as well because I just keep thinking about that lovely little kitten with its beautiful little face.”

Police believe the burglars killed the kitten after ransacking the flat and finding nothing worth stealing, the Daily Mirror reports.

“This was a cowardly act which will have caused indescribable suffering to a helpless animal,” Warwickshire police constable Ben Hood said.

Metro quotes an RPSCA spokesman as saying: “We are horrified to hear of this horrendous act of cruelty inflicted on a defenceless young animal.”
