Business advice from Bill Cullen: lose weight

Lose a couple of stone and you might make money.

IT MAY SOUND like the latest spouting of another of Ireland’s leading businessmen but Bill Cullen was actually offering some practical advice to a NUI Maynooth student this morning.

Asked a question by a world-weary business student, The Apprentice boss said that a positive attitude and letting go of past failures or regrets are key to entrepreneurial success.

When the 20-year-old pushed the issue, stating he had lost his life-savings from a failed business venture and couldn’t get away from his negativity, Cullen responded that he should get fit, healthy and lose a couple of stone to give himself a chance of making money.

According to another student attending the Business Landscape lecture and questions and answers session, the room fell silent after the well-intended remark – but the audience soon found the funny side, erupting into laughter.
