Man released without charge after cars, drugs and Harley Davidson motorcycle seized in major CAB searches in Limerick

The Criminal Assets Bureau called this morning’s search operation a “significant development”.

A 42-year-old man has been released without charge by gardaí following his arrest after a series of searches were carried out by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) this morning in Limerick.

Cars, drugs, laptops, mobile phones, along with evidence of drug dealing including weighing scales, tick list and a quantity of cocaine were seized in the six searches.

CAB has said this morning’s operation is a “significant development” in its ongoing investigations.

Five of the searches took place at residential premises while the sixth took place at a professional premises, it said.

A 151 Audi A6, a 151 VW, a 131 Range Rover Sport and a Harley Davidson motorcycle were all seized by CAB. 

Cocaine worth approximately €20,000 was also discovered by CAB.

The 42-year-old man was released after being held at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The investigation under way centres on an individual member of an organised crime gang involved in the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Limerick city and county area.
