Campaigns focus on education and mortgages

Education, mortgage distress, and political reforms are on the party agendas today, with a number of policy launches planned for Dublin this morning.

EDUCATION IS ON THE CAMPAIGN agenda this morning, as Fianna Fáil and Labour launch their education policy documents today.

Micheál Martin and Mary Coughlan will jointly launch Fianna Fáil’s education policy in Dublin.

Also in Dublin city, Ruairi Quinn, Roisin Shortall and Ivana Bacik are launching Labour’s plan this morning at the party’s election HQ.

Sinn Féin will launch its plans for political reform outside Government Buildings. Ahead of the launch, party leader Gerry Adams said that the “political system has failed” and his party would propose “fundamental political reform which is citizens-centred and based upon equality and fairness”.

John Gormley will be canvassing with party members in Carlow and Kilkenny this afternoon, and will launch the party’s social policy document called “Better Society”.

Michael Noonan will launch Fine Gael’s plan to assist families in mortgage distress this morning in Dublin, as party leader Enda Kenny visits towns in Kerry and Cork.
