€500,000 worth of cannabis plants seized in Leitrim

Two men have been arrested after Gardaí discovered the plants in two separate raids.

GARDAÍ IN LEITRIM have seized cannabis plants worth almost half a million euro in two separate raids.

In the first, Gardaí found cannabis plants worth an estimated €240,000 during a planned search of a house in the Kilclare area of Carrick-0n-Shannon on Monday afternoon.

A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He is currently being held at Manorhamilton Garda Station.

Separately, a premises in Aughamore was searched and cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €250,000 were seized.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
