GARDAÍ HAVE APPEALED for witnesses to come forward following a serious car crash in Dublin yesterday.

Four male pedestrians were hit by a Saab convertible car at the junction of Adelaide Road and Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2 at approximately 6.05pm.

Gardaí said the female driver of the car and one pedestrian were taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second male pedestrian was removed to Tallaght Hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries.

The final two pedestrians were taken to St James’s Hospital, and one of the casualties was subsequently transferred to Beaumont Hospital in a serious condition.

Despite earlier speculation, a spokesperson at the Garda Press Office ruled out any link to terrorist activity this morning.

Investigating gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or motorists with dashcam footage to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
