TWO NINE-YEAR OLD brothers have been killed after a stabbing incident in Charleville in Co Cork.

The boys’ older brother has been found dead in the nearby area of Castleland, just south of Buttevant.

The two boys were found dead by another brother at a house in the Deerpark area of north Cork shortly before 5pm.

Their bodies are still at the scene and the area has been sealed off to allow for technical examinations.

Post mortems are expected to be carried out on the two boys tomorrow.

The N20 Limerick to Cork Rd between O’Rourke’s Cross and Charleville has been closed due to the incident and local diversions are in place.

The house in which the children died is just a few hundred metres outside the town centre of Charleville.

A large crowd of locals, friends and family gathered outside the house this evening.

The body of the older brother was found some 16km south, gardaí say they are investigating this death but it is believed that foul play is not suspected.
