A BATCH OF coconut milk has been recalled over concerns that it contains a milk protein that could negatively affect people who are allergic to dairy.

Milk protein (casein) was detected in the A1B batch of Koh Coconut Milk, which is labelled as ‘non-dairy’.

This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk or its constituents.

The batch has a best before date of 6 December and the contamination only affects the one litre cartons.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has urged anyone who is allergic to dairy to avoid the milk.
