Don’t do this while driving.

The AA reporting a dog loose on the N25 Waterford/Cork Road – westbound at J2 Little Island. The gardaí are on the way but be sure to drive safe on approach.

The AA also have multiple reports coming in from Louth:

There are reports of debris on the M6 heading west between J18 Portlaoise and J19 M8.

Gardaí were also dealing with a crash on the Old Dublin Road (R132) in Dundalk near Louth County Hospital. Take care on approach.

Right, let’s get to Dublin traffic.

Things are looking congested inbound at North Strand already, all the way back to Fairview Park (and it’s not even 7.20).

Sticking with inbound on the northside, things are also looking busy on the Swords Road up as far as Drumcondra Road.

And the finish off the tri-force of busy northside spots, there’s also traffic building on the Phibsboro Road, from Doyle’s Corner back to Hart’s Corner.

The AA is also reporting that it’s slow inbound on the N4 Lucan Road.

Busy southbound on the M50 – traffic moving okay northbound so far.

It’s busy already on the North Quays from Ormond Quay to Bachelor’s Walk.

Careful in Dublin, there are multiple reports of an incident on the Rock Road inbound after the junction of Mount merrion Avenue – bus lane completely blocked.

Take care for that dog that may still be loose on the N25

Maybe people just don’t want to get out of bed yet?

Whether you care, whether you don’t – it doesn’t matter.

You’re going to hear anyway that Conor McGregor is reportedly back in the running for UFC 200.

This long-running saga has had many dips and dives – is this the end of it? Probably not…

Okay, looks like that incident has been cleared from the Rock Road. Traffic still busy though.

The AA are saying that there are dogs loose on the N76 Kilkenny/ Callan Road at Ballymack Cross. Be sure to take care in the area.

Talk about doing the dog on it…

There are dogs on the loose, multiple crashes and heavy traffic all across dublin. Wouldn’t you know it’s a Monday?

Right, it’s been busy. Is it busy where you are?

Email me, tweet @cormfitz or comment below.

My shiny admiration for anyone who sends in a good picture to brighten up this dull Monday.

So, what are the main stories today?

We’ve got Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil due to meet again today in a bid to break the current deadlock.

Over €1.2 million was spent deploying gardaí at Shannon Airportlast year, while a further €180,000 was spent on the Defence Forces.

Talks between Luas drivers and management will resume today to try to resolve their long-running pay dispute with the next strike planned for Thursday.

Galway and Cork have made the most claims for humanitarian assistance funding following flood damage.

Everything else you need to know is over at the 8 at 8.

Almost time to say goodbye for another day.

Before I do – here’s a final round up of the traffic in Dublin (courtesy of AA Roadwatch)

So it’s still busy on the Rock Road inbound after that earlier crash.

Slow in Dublin city centre from Dean Street onto Kevin Street and through to Cuffe Street.

Traffic is also slow on James’ Street on to Thomas Street and through to Christchurch.

Still busy inbound from Fairview through North Strand.

Still busy on Drumcondra Road and Phibsboro Road as well.

Also still busy on the North Quays.

So, yeah, traffic is still fairly busy across the city.

Well that’s all, folks.

Time for me to depart until tomorrow.

I’ll be back bright and early Tuesday morning with traffic, travel and news to get your day started.

Until then, in the spirit of the day and the canines that were causing havoc on the roads, I’ll leave you with this:
