Stabbing at Cork University Hospital after row between two families

AT LEAST ONE man was treated for stab injuries after a row broke out between two families at Cork University Hospital yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened before 2pm at the hospital’s emergency department and is believed to have involved two families who are members of the Travelling community.

A knife is understood to have been produced during the dispute and at least one man was injured. RTÉ is reporting that two men were injured during the incident. Nobody suffered serious injuries in the melee.

Gardaí say that officers from Bishopstown were called to the scene at around 2pm yesterday and that they are investigating the incident but that no complaint has been made.
