Five due in court over robberies and burglaries in the west

The four men and one woman will appear before Galway District Court today.

FOUR MEN AND one woman are to appear in court today over a spate of robberies and burglaries in the west of Ireland.

Gardaí arrested the five yesterday in Balbriggan, Co Dublin. The arrests were part of an investigation into robberies and burglaries in the Western Region and involved a number of garda units, including the Emergency Response Unit.

This morning, the five people are due before Galway District Court at 10.30am, charged in relation to crime committed in the west of Ireland.

The four men, (ranging in ages from 25 – 30 years) and the one woman (in her mid 20s) were all detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Galway, Loughrea and Tuam Garda Stations.
