"Several" men arrested for dangerous driving after unofficial car rally

A video of the rally has been shared on social media.

GARDAÍ SAY THAT several men have been arrested after an unofficial car rally in Donegal.

The rally attracted a large crowd, with cars performing doughnuts in the middle of a main road between Friday night and Saturday morning.

A video of the incident has been shared widely on social media, showing a number of cars and a large crowd on the road outside Letterkenny.

At one point in the video, a number of men are seen hanging from the window of one of the cars. At another, traffic is impeded by the cars.

Sources say that many of those in attendance had come from across the border, in what is described as “an ongoing problem” in the area.

Gardaí confirmed to TheJournal.ie that “several” men were arrested in connection with the incident.

All have been charged and will appear before Letterkenny District Court at a later date.
