THE SMALL DOG who was handed in to staff at Malahide DART station before Christmas has a new home and a new name – Lady.

The dog, although wearing a collar and having the appearance of being well cared for, was never claimed.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail has told that unless someone claims her, Lady will now live full-time with the family of the Irish Rail employee who took care of her over the Christmas period.

“Tony and the entire family have gotten very attached to her since that first night,” the spokesperson said, before adding that they “are now going to keep her permanently.”
