REPRESENTATIVES FROM DELOITTE will today be talking to employees from the various HMV stores around the country today as staff in two Limerick stores stage a sit-in.

Staff in the Crescent Shopping Centre and Cruise’s Street branches in Limerick started their protest yesterday over uncertainty around payment of their wages and redundancy.

“We will be engaging with all of the staff in all of the outlets today”, a spokesperson for Deloitte told TheJournal.ie.

The spokesperson confirmed that the company had been in touch with staff from both of the stores in Limerick and said that the receiver is working on a solution.

The receiver is looking at all the options in order to facilitate payment as quickly as possible. He’s taking it all on board and is assessing the viability of everything at the moment. We’ll be working with staff through the whole process.

Yesterday Deloitte Ireland was appointed as receiver to HMV’s Irish operation which includes 16 stores around the country and around 300 jobs.
