A DISABLED WOMAN was hospitalised with facial injuries and shock this morning after being attacked at her south Belfast home.

The woman, who is in her 50s, was threatened and assaulted by a man who had broken into the house on Breit Street at around 6am.

The perpetrator fled the scene on a bicycle along an alleyway behind the property.

He was wearing a white-hooded top at the time and is described as being about six-foot tall with short dark hair.

Detective Sergeant Natalie McNally said: “This was a disgraceful attack on a vulnerable person and I would urge anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area or who has any information about this incident to come forward.”
