Three suspected dissident republicans due in court after Limerick arrests

Gardaí seized two cars, a gun and ammunition on Saturday in the arrests.

THREE MEN ARE due in court this morning charged over dissident republican activity.

The men were arrested at Kyletuan in Rathkeale, county Limerick on Saturday by gardaí attached to the Special Detective Unit. Members of the Emergency Response Unit, the armed unit of An Garda Síochána, assisted in the arrests.

Two cars, one believed to have been stolen, were stopped and a firearm and ammunition were discovered and seized.

The three men aged in their mid 20s to late 30s were detained in Henry Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939. They will appear at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin at 10am this morning.
