DoneDeal of the week: Two crossovers that come with a lot of kit

These two crossovers are massively popular with Irish buyers as they are handsome as well as practical.

THIS WEEK WE have two best-selling crossover models, both of which are practical, comfortable and roomy.

First up, this 2016 Hyundai iX35 in Executive trim

The Hyundai ix35 is a modern looking, capable car with decent road manners and a lot of kit.

It is spacious and comfortable with a nice high driving position and has plenty of room for passengers in the back. The boot is very large offering 1,436 litres with the rear seats down.

It comes with many features including rear parking assistant system, six speakers, leather steering wheel and gear knob, steering wheel mounted remote audio controls, heated front and rear seats, cruise control with an intelligent display system, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED rear combination lamps, auto light control, electric with folding function exterior mirror, side repeater lamp, half leather interior, back warning camera, manual lumbar support and dual Zone climate control. The ix35 comes with five star rated safety features and Bluetooth with voice control.

This particular model is powered by a 1.7-litre CRDi engine with a six-speed manual transmission driving power to the front wheels. It produces 115hp at 4,000rpm and 260Nm of torque at 1,250- to 2,750rpm. It goes from 0 to 100km/h in 12.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 174km/h.

It falls into tax band B2, which means it is €280 to tax a year and has 12,316km on the clock and a €25,888 price tag.

Next up is this 2016 Nissan Qashqai in XE trim

The Nissan Qashqai is a handsome and well-proportioned crossover. It offers a great high driving position that gives great all-round visibility.

It drives really well and the steering is light and well composed and it offers a firm but forgiving ride.

This particular model comes with body coloured bumpers and door mirrors, rear roof spoiler, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, heated door mirrors and alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin is very well laid out and there is plenty of room in the back and headroom up front. It comes with a multifunction steering wheel, with reach and rake adjustment, front armrest, electric windows and black cloth seats. It has a five-inch advanced drive-assist display unit, Bluetooth, air con, cruise control, speed limiter, hill start assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The boot is generous and with the seats folded down can hold 1,585 litres of cargo.

This particular model is powered by a 1.2-litre PET engine with a six-speed manual transmission driving power to the front wheels. It produces 115hp at 4,500rpm and 190Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. It goes from 0 to 100km/h in 10.8 seconds and onto a top speed of 178km/h.

It falls into tax band B1, which means it is €270 to tax a year and has just 40km on the clock and a €23,795 price tag.
